Marie !

Just doodling and playing in my journal, Marie showed up! Then I was surprised at how pretty she looks. ThEn I ruined her by adding the "blond" curls. I wanted to show her "real" hair escaping her big wig, but they are too big and too orange, and in the wrong place... oh well.

Also I used to make silver jewelry, I was the Silver Artisan, and made this bracelet Marie inspired.

This morning, sweet JulieAnn shared with us a wonderful blog with a free e-zine with enough Marie art for a year's worth of inspiration! Love it!

Thanks for Visiting !

Waxed Collage

Hi there!
Here is my newest collage, I apologize the picture only shows a detail of it. The wax is so smooth the pictures have a lot of glare, except for this one taken at an angle.
Thank you for visiting.

Hair Practice

I really have been wanting to make my portraits more interesting, so I'm learning from my new faerie book. One huge challenge is the hair, so I'm practicing, here is a purple-hair faerie.
Thanks for looking.

Been Busy !

Hello everybody, I've been happily busy. I finally completed another collage, I missed the process and today I thoroughly enjoyed it. :D

Then since my twinchie turned out so cute I decided to make Christmas ornaments with the paper clay, yes I know they look like cookies, but don't try to eat them LOL.

THEN I found a fabulous book on how to draw faeries, and I was happy with my first attempt, I just want to make my portraits more interesting, not too out there. So here are my pictures for you to take a peek:

PS. Sorry about the watermark. I'm trying to figure out how to make it invisible for future postings :D THANKS for Visiting!

Mary - Art Challenge !

I made it with paperclay, painted a frame around it with glitter and acrylic medium. The painting has blues with iridescent medium, pearly. And I attached a copper wire for hanging. This was a challenge because it's so tiny, 2x2", but it was fun. Considering making more to add as gift tags or Christmas tree ornaments :)

My Mermaid

Ok, yes this one is quite different from my usual work. It's actually homework for my portrait class, my daughter said it looks like a mermaid, so it is. Thanks for visiting :D

New Portrait !

Success !

I finally repaired all the "flaws". Had to lose the blue eyes since I was unable to make them look natural or even interesting, I softened the accent lines, colored the lips some more and ... Yes I applied the feared beeswax, yay success!

Remember that clicking on the pic will show much better detail.

I really do appreciate all the supportive comments, I tried visiting all your blogs and say hi. However I was not able to access some of you and I want to thank you here: Julie Scott, Sandy, Melony, and CorazonArt (love the name).

Big thanks also to our dear Leah for her AEDM challenge. AEDM has allowed me to meet a fantastic group of very talented, kind and generous artists!

Peculiar...

Hi there, not sure about this one. This piece, first I ruined it with the hot wax, the paint blistered with the heat. I sanded, re-coated, re-painted, and the beeswax just accumulated in lumps. So I set it aside for another day, to fix. Last night, I cutout one of my newly made portraits and it just fit perfectly on this girl's face. So I scraped, sanded and attached the new face. Then I realized the features are too big for the little neck, so I'm trying to widen it. I painted some details and by doing so I flatten some of the shading. Ay ay ay. So this girl is still waiting for her "face lift" wish her luck :D

Thank you so very much to all the wonderful artists leaving me sweet comments for the last few days, please receive my e-hugs :D

Creative? Yes

Ok, I know I haven't posted every day. I meant to. And really I have been creating:) Here's what I've been up to:

Here is my next girl. I know it looks a lot like my last one. I'll be taking a new portrait class soon and maybe I'll change my style a little. We'll see.

Also I have been making granny squares for the ''l'amour sans frontieres", an initiative to help an animal shelter in Paris.

Even my daughter has been creative. She was inspired in school to make this baby with a 2Lt bottle. The head is made with felt and a sock. For the pacifier she found a cabinet knob : )
I believe she improvised beautifully!

Hot Wax

Literally, I just finished this piece. The beeswax is still hot : )
This is my accomplishment of the day. Really I'm blessed to be able to create everyday. The challenge is to take the time to take a picture and post it. I will try to post my work everyday for the Creative Every Day challenge. Thanks for looking.
Oh yeah, a million thanks to Ms. Abbie from The Vintage Moth, http://www.percyandbloom.com/the-vintage-moth/ for the wonderful vintage elements. Here I included the French Arch of Triumph, a French check form, also the postal stamps and a beautiful love letter. Thank you Abbie !
